OUR PERCEPTIONS OF THE WEIMARANER with a few added tips
The Weimaraner is a loyal breed, with exceptional intelligence. It is a
breed that can lend its hand to anything that is asked, whether that
involves the showring, the field, the agility course, or just a walk in
the woods. It must, however, have a job, or it will make its own work,
which often is destructive and not what you expect of it. Often
labelled a highly strung dog, this is not so, it is merely an
intelligent soul who is often misunderstood. Basic training is a must,
as is full inclusion into family life. Weimaraners and children can be
a match made in heaven, but approached wrongly can be a match
made in hell.
If you think you can earn the privelege of owning one of these dogs,
please take time to research the breed, and speak to as many owners as
possible. If you still think you are worthy of a Weimaraner, please
take care to ensure that the Weimaraner you obtain is from non-puppy
farmed stock, and care has been taken by the breeders to carry out
basic health screening such as hip scores. Please feel free to contact
us for help or advice, whether or not you wish to have a Weimaraner
from us, we are always happy to help.
